One day my family and I went to a beach in Pataua south for a swim and the waves were giant. I wanted to go for a swim but I was only 9 but I still went anyway. One big wave came and crashed on top of me and I went under the water I couldn't swim either. But on the beach there was my 17 year old cousin, he came in and he saved me putting his own life at risk and I thought that was really amazing and heroic of him.

Wow, what a story! It sounds like your cousin was very brave that day. I've been to Pataua a few times to swim and when those waves are big they can be very scary!! I'm so glad your cousin was there to help that day.
What's your favourite beach to go to? My family and I go camping every year at Ruakaka so that's one of my favourites, but I also love Whale Bay!
